Cardinal Ltd are a proud family business based in Bradford, West Yorkshire delivering projects and roll outs for a wide variety of clients.

With over 35 years of history successfully completing works within the retail, leisure, healthcare, education and residential sectors means that your projects are in safe hands.

As a multi disciplined company, Cardinal can provide a full turn-key approach to any project from concept to completion. Our design, install and construction teams coupled with in-house Joinery & Metal manufacturing capabilities ensure that your project can be delivered efficiently and effectively. This co-ordinated and controlled approach from the outset reduces client costs and programme durations, whilst maintaining extremely high levels of quality.

The family ethos of the company ensures that full care and attention is given to all projects via a dedicated Account Manager and Project delivery team, whilst regular feedback is actively requested as part of the company’s continual improvement strategy.

How it all began…

A Family business formed in 1912 as a joinery factory named Sharp & Law. (Pictured right)

A retail shopfitting company that was utilised to manufacture munitions boxes During both World Wars.

During the 1970’s it expanded its capability in several directions including metal manufacturing when it created a division called Cardinal.

At this time it became a full interiors contractor, producing timber and metal shopfitting equipment, full shop fronts and electrical installation.

 

Cardinal Emerges…

Cardinal was created as a stand alone trading business in 1989. It rationalised back to being a joinery and metal shopfitting company.

In 1998 Cardinal created Cardinal Project Management (CPM) to provide a full interior contracting business.

In 2001 Cardinal were the first UK shopfitting company to import equipment from China. Subsequently in 2003 it created its wholly owned foreign enterprise (WOFE), also providing capability to trade within China to assist Marks & Spencer with their expansion into the region.

CPM continued to supply shopfitting manufactured product and installation services throughout the UK, Europe and into the US and Australasia.

Cardinal Development.

1989 – Cardinal Opens – dedicated 100,000 sqft facility opens in Bradford.
Clients include, M&S, Greenwoods Menswear, Barclays Bank, Asda and Morrisons.

1994 – Cardinal increase capacity by 70,000 sqft with the acquisition of two more facilities in Bradford.

1998 – Cardinal purchase Campbell & Armstrong shopfitters from Manchester and amalgamate their 50,000 sqft Joinery facility into the Cardinal Estate

2002 – Moved all Manchester sites in into a purpose built 100,000 sqft site in Levenshulme.

2005 – Purchased the Neville Road facility.  Covering 200,000 sqft this more than quadrupled the storage capacity of the Cardinal estate.

2016 – All Manufacturing consolidated in a new site in Battye Street in Bradford.  State of the art machinery and manufacturing processes applied to our current 140,000 sqft Manufacturing and head office facility.

We deliver inspirational interior fit out packages across the UK and international markets, all supported by our 120,000 sq.ft. UK manufacturing facility and 150,000 sq.ft. logistics operation together with our China Sourcing capability.
